Support the Vermont Association of the Deaf

The Vermont Association of the Deaf (VTAD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals who are deaf, members of the deaf community, including parents of deaf children, professionals in deaf-related fields, organizations created by and for the deaf, and businesses that engage with the deaf community.

VTAD’s mission is to promote the well-being of deaf Vermonters across all aspects of life.
We aim to advance their educational, vocational, and economic opportunities while enhancing their intellectual, recreational, spiritual, and social experiences.

To achieve this mission, VTAD commits and acts to protect the rightsof deaf individuals and their families to accessible services, empowering them to exercise self-determination and independence, and advocating for equal opportunities in social, educational, and employment contexts throughout the state of Vermont.

About the Yolande Henry Community Fund

Since its inception, the Yolande Henry Community Fund has been crucial in covering the costs associated with providing access at events not covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In partnership with Vancro Integrated Interpreting Services, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, VTAD is committed to reducing communication access disparities faced by the Deaf community. Together, we work diligently to ensure that Deaf individuals can fully participate in all aspects of their lives.

How You Can Help

We are seeking additional funds to increase the number of events we can support for Deaf individuals. This includes covering weddings, birthday parties, family gatherings, and other social events not covered by the ADA.

Your financial support is essential for expanding our reach and making a meaningful impact on the Deaf community. Here’s how your donation can help:

  • $200 would cover a 2-hour event.
  • $500 would cover two 2-hour or longer events.
  • $1,000 would cover four 2-hour or longer events.

We invite you to contribute to our cause and help us enhance inclusivity across Vermont.
