Hello Austine Alumni and Deaf Community Members, Family, and Friends.   

You are invited to an open meeting to discuss the future of the Austine Museum on the Winston Prouty Campus.

Meeting Date:                    Wednesday, November 1, 2023
Meeting Time:                   6:00pm – 7:15pm
Meeting Location:            Winston Prouty Campus
                                                209 Austine Drive, Thomas Hall (formerly Vermont Hall)

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the future of the Austine Museum and its contents on the Winston Prouty Campus.

You can expect to hear the following goal and how we are going to move forward to make the goal a reality.

“Provide inclusive and free access to Austine School historical items to all members of our local deaf community, Austine Alumni, Austine School alumni friends and family, and all of those interested in the history of this place.”

We will discuss and share:

Plans for ongoing care of the museum.
Plans for ongoing access to the museum.
Plans for making the museum sustainable into the future.
Facts about museum contents ownership and Winston Prouty’s commitment to the deaf community and their families.
Facts about Winston Prouty’s financial position on the museum.

Hello Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people of Vermont!!  I am David Krueger, president of Vermont Association of the Deaf (VtAD) and I am here at a tailgate party in Castleton University.  The purpose of this video is to share information with you about the upcoming VtAD Town Hall meeting and Tailgate Party in Castleton, Vermont on Saturday October 14.  You might be wondering why VtAD is doing an event on Saturday, October 14.  It is because it is the date of the annual Gallaudet University vs Castleton University football game.  VtAD is doing a Town Hall at the same time to see if you want any information or need any support / resources from VtAD or various deaf community organizations in the state. 

So, VtAD will have two tents in the tailgate area.  VtAD will provide food — free!  Admission to the tailgate area is free, too.  If you want to enter the football stadium to watch the game, you will need to buy a ticket at the entrance to the stadium.  You can also choose not to buy a ticket and stand outside of the stadium fence on the lawn and watch the game from there.  

As for parking, when you come to Castleton University, please park your car in the lot across the street from the tailgate area.  You can’t see the parking lot here in the video — it is behind the tall trees that are in the background.  Park your car there and walk over to the VtAD tents.  We will have the tents open at 9am.  The football game starts at 12 noon.  We welcome anyone — Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, Coda, and hearing people who sign!

Alright!!!  It will be an exciting day and we look forward to seeing you here — 9am onwards at Castleton University on Saturday October 14!!

Hello my name is Val Hughes and some people tried to say there’s no meeting this Saturday. No… THERE will be a meeting this Saturday the 23rd at 11 am at Dartmouth Hospital

At auditorium and I will explain more about that later. The purpose of this meeting is to re establish the Austine Alumni and to elect new officers for this as well.

We want to have an open discussion about this – open discussion. I know some of you people live far away like Louisiana and other places , do not worry.

There will be a zoom link set up and if you need it please contact me in here and I’ll get your email address so I can send it out. As for you all in New England area , please come to this meeting. We need you all there! There will be food court for lunch break.
